Bert

I truly liked my father

I’m sure I loved my mother

the one I miss the most of all

would surely be my brother

My father was my father

my mother was my mother

the one I loved just for himself

was my oldest brother

I never asked for anything

that he didn’t give me

He never asked for anything

not even to outlive me

I hope he knew while still alive

just what he meant to me

although I never told him

it was love eternally
