Eternity

They thought that they were heaven bound,

when they were planted in the ground.

There to lie and turn to dust,

it seems in heaven you just can’t trust.

Their tombstones tell of life so brief,

butcher, beggar, rich or thief.

They’re all the same when in the ground,

eternity is all they found.
