He stared into the never ending darkness,
He searched for items that remained unseen,
He always knew, just what was about him,
because his sense of hearing was so keen.
Sometimes he would once more sort the memories,
that he had collected through the years,
some brought a wispy smile to his features,
others often brought on only tears.
At one time he had a wife and daughter,
they had gone their own way by and by,
they couldn’t stand to see him lay in silence,
He couldn’t even tell them both goodbye.
The simple act of diving in the pool one day,
had left his body just a broken shell,
He’d end it all if he could only do it,
For his troubles, he would surely go to hell.
